He broke up with me, and it was really hard, we didn’t talk to each other for a month, but then I reached out to him because I was having a problem and he e-mailed me back.  About 2 weeks later we started talking on the phone again, and now we talk at least 3 times a week.

He’s currently very happy with his girlfriend, and she likes me and trusts me (finally)that I’m not after him for a relationship.

I think it’s completely possible to be friends with an ex.

It depends on the situation, but I hate it when people try and say that it just can’t be done because that’s not true. My ex and I are best friends, and even though we’ve had to deal with some of the issues mentioned in the article we have dealt with them, and I can tell him anything, because we have that shared history there isn’t anything I’m afraid to hide. I can’t say that about any of my other friends.
